Overview
Smok TA coils are Smok's mesh coil range for the T-Air Subtank. All three options use FeCrAl alloy with organic cotton wicking — the material runs clean, heats evenly, and holds up reasonably well with high-VG liquids.
Three variants to choose from. The 0.15Ω is a dual mesh build — two layers of mesh mean more surface area, faster heat-up, and generally more vapour. Runs best at 40–60W, sweet spot around 55W. The 0.2Ω is a single mesh 2-in-1 build — slightly higher resistance, runs warmer at 50–70W with 65W being the recommended setting for most liquids. The 0.4Ω is the lightest option, 20–45W, better suited if you're running at lower wattages or prefer a cooler vape.
All three install the same way — press to fit, no threading. Pull the old one out, push the new one in. Done in seconds.

Key Benefits
Mesh across all three options — not just the lower resistance ones. That means even the 0.4Ω runs with better flavour and more even heating than an equivalent round-wire coil would.
Press-fit installation is genuinely quick. No screwing in, no cross-threading. The coil just pushes into the base of the T-Air tank. If you've used Smok's older screw-in coils you'll notice the difference immediately.
FeCrAl alloy holds its shape under repeated heating better than some other alloys. Not a dramatic thing — just means the coil doesn't degrade as fast with high-wattage use.

Which Coil to Choose
0.15Ω dual mesh — want maximum vapour, running at higher wattages, using high-VG liquid. This is the big cloud option.
0.2Ω single mesh — the middle ground. Good flavour, decent vapour, sits comfortably at 65W without burning through juice instantly. Most people running a Morph 3 daily end up here.
0.4Ω single mesh — lower wattage setup, cooler vape, or just prefer something that lasts longer between replacements. Works well with 50/50 liquids too, not just high-VG.
Installation
- Make sure the tank is empty or near-empty before swapping
- Unscrew the base of the T-Air Subtank
- Pull the old coil straight out of the base — no twisting needed
- Push the new TA coil firmly into the base until it seats
- Add a few drops of liquid directly onto the coil wicking before reassembling
- Fill the tank, wait 5 minutes, then start at a lower wattage before building up

FAQs
- Which resistance should I go for? 0.2Ω for most people — it's the most versatile. If you specifically want more cloud and already vape above 55W, go 0.15Ω. If you're at the lower end of the wattage range or want the coil to last longer, 0.4Ω.
- Do these fit any other Smok tanks? No. TA coils are specific to the T-Air Subtank. They won't fit TFV tanks or anything outside that range.
- What liquid works best? High-VG for the 0.15Ω and 0.2Ω — ideally 70VG or above. The 0.4Ω handles 50/50 fine.
- How long does a coil last? Depends entirely on wattage and what you're vaping. Sweet, dessert-style liquids kill coils faster. Running clean fruit or menthol at sensible wattages, expect 7–14 days per coil. Chain vaping at 70W on a custard — maybe four or five days.
- How do I know when to replace it? Burnt taste. Reduced vapour. Sometimes a slightly metallic or dull flavour creeping in before the full burn hits. Don't push it past that point — it won't come back.
