Innokin Prism Apex Tank

MTL tank, 510 thread, top-fill, adjustable airflow at the base. The innokin prism apex tank is a 2ml clearomiser built specifically for mouth-to-lung vaping — comes with a 0.9Ω mesh coil pre-installed and a 0.8Ω spare in the box, and works with the full Prism S T20S coil range.

Introduction

The innokin prism apex tank is the current version of Innokin's long-running Prism tank line. Same coil format as the T20S, same 22mm diameter — just with a screw-off top fill cap instead of a slide, and a base airflow ring that gives you actual control over draw restriction rather than a fixed setting. That's what makes it an upgrade over the older Prism tanks.

It takes the full Prism S T20S coil range — 0.8Ω, 0.9Ω, and 1.5Ω. The 0.9Ω mesh ships installed, the 0.8Ω ships as a spare. If you're an existing T20S user already sitting on a stash of coils, they drop straight in. Nothing changes except the tank itself.

510 connection means it's not locked to the Endura Apex mod. Any variable wattage mod with a 510 thread and an output range that covers 14–18W runs it without issue. That's most of the mid-range UK market.

Specs

The 0.9Ω mesh coil is the headline addition to this generation of the Prism tank. Mesh distributes heat across a larger surface area than the older wire coils — that means more even vaporisation, no dry spots forming on one side of the wick, and flavour that holds up consistently rather than degrading as the cotton ages. At 14.5–18W the innokin prism apex tank isn't pushing the coil hard either, which extends coil lifespan noticeably compared to higher-wattage sub-ohm setups.

Filling and Coil Setup

Unscrew the top fill cap — it comes off completely, which is cleaner than a slide-fill design that half-opens and drips on your fingers. Fill to just under the 2ml line, don't overfill it. Screw the cap back on.

Now the important part. Leave it. Ten minutes before your first draw on a new coil. The cotton wicking material inside the 0.9Ω mesh coil needs to saturate from the outside inward — it doesn't happen instantly just because the tank is full. Draw too early and the coil fires a dry wick, scorches the cotton, and the burnt taste is there for the rest of that coil's life.

After ten minutes, set the airflow. Base ring — close it right down first to feel the tightest draw the innokin prism apex tank offers, then open it incrementally until it's where you want it. Most MTL vapers end up somewhere in the middle. Full open pushes it into RDTL territory, which works fine with the 0.8Ω coil specifically.

Fire at 14.5W to start. Don't open at 18W on a fresh coil. Work up from the bottom of the range across the first couple of tanks of liquid. Let the coil bed in.

Compatibility

The innokin prism apex tank uses the Prism S T20S coil format — three resistance options across the range.

• 0.9Ω Prism S Mesh — 14.5–18W, MTL, ships installed in the tank
• 0.8Ω Prism S — 16–18W, slightly looser MTL/RDTL, ships as spare in the box
• 1.5Ω Prism S — 13–14W, tightest draw of the three, pure MTL, available separately

510 thread on the base makes it compatible with most variable wattage mods on the market. Planet of the Vapes confirmed it running cleanly on external mods in their Apex review — the 14.5–18W range is easy to hit on virtually any variable wattage device. What it won't handle is high-wattage sub-ohm use — this is built for MTL output, not 50W+ direct lung setups.

Also compatible with the Endura T20-S Kit, EZ.WATT Kit, and Endura T20S Kit for users already in the Innokin ecosystem.

E-Liquid Pairing

50/50 or high-PG e-liquids, and nic salts. That's the call for the innokin prism apex tank.

High-VG above 70% is too thick — the wicking ports on MTL coils aren't wide enough to pull viscous liquid through quickly at low wattages. You'll get dry hits mid-tank even with a properly primed coil. Nic salt in 50/50 base is the natural pairing — the MTL draw style and tight airflow of the Prism Apex tank work exactly as they're supposed to with a 20mg nic salt. CBD e-liquid in a 50/50 base also runs well in the 0.9Ω coil according to Innokin's own coil documentation.
